Profile seals EPDM (DIN 3869)

Profile rings (DIN 3869) are used as axial static seals of screw couplings, for example for construction machines, hydraulic presses, hydraulic valves and screw couplings in industry in general.

All standard sizes are available from stock in NBR, FKM and EPDM.

Function

Profile rings (DIN 3869) are used as axial-static seals in screw couplings. When the profile ring is mounted, it deforms slightly and this creates the sealing effect. The seal must prevent the medium from leaking so that pressure drops are avoided. The geometry ensures that the ring does not deform during installation. The profile ring prevents dust and grease from penetrating from the outside.

These profile rings (DIN 3869) are used as axial-static seals of screw couplings, for example in construction machines, hydraulic presses, injection moulding machines and hydraulic valves.

EPDM is highly resistant to hot water and hot steam, many polar solvents (e.g. alcohols, ketones, esters), many organic and inorganic acids and bases, alkaline washing solutions, silicone oils and silicone grease, ozone, weathering, ageing.

EPDM is not resistant to all types of mineral oil products (oils, greases, fuels)

Application temperature range: -45°C to +150°C
