The task of guide rings is to guide the piston rod of a hydraulic cylinder and to absorb the lateral forces correctly. At the same time, they prevent metal from coming into contact with metal, which would damage the surfaces. This can ultimately lead to damage to the seals, leaks and damage to components of the hydraulic system. Seal Supply offers seals in a variety of materials, including laminated fabric, PTFE (with various fillings), POM and Hallite 506 (fabric-reinforced polyester resin). The properties of the various materials are briefly described below.
