
O-rings FFKM (evolast®)
FFKM O-rings (also known as Kalrez) are chemically and thermally the most taxable elastomers. With some FFKM types, temperatures above 300°C are achievable. Resistance to chemicals is almost universal and comparable to that of PTFE.

The compound FFKM is suitable to serve as a seal in a variety of forms, but as an O-ring FFKM is most commonly used. FFKM is marketed by market leader DuPont as the Kalrez brand. Our equivalent to Kalrez is Evolast brand FFKM. FFKM materials are chemically and thermally the most load-bearing elastomers. With some FFKM types, temperatures just over 300°C are manageable. Resistance to chemicals is nearly universal and comparable to that of PTFE. The advantage of FFKM lies in the combination of the chemical and thermal resistance of PTFE with the elastic properties of elastomeric materials.
These special elastomers are used wherever their high price is justified by corresponding safety requirements or high maintenance costs and too much is demanded of standard elastomers. The proven long-term results of FFKM O-rings leads in many cases to longer service lives and fewer seal repairs/replacements. This reduces downtime, allowing machines or other applications to be used more effectively.
The O-rings made from Evolast® FFKM can range from very small to very large sizes. Currently, there are approximately 10,000 different sizes available.
