Speedi Sleeves

Speedi Sleeves are used to repair worn running surfaces on the shaft. This is a quick and cost-effective alternative to repairing or replacing the worn shaft. An oil seal only seals properly if the running surface on the shaft is good. Thus, this surface should not be too smooth or too rough and should not be damaged and completely free of corrosion. A Speedi-Sleeve is a high-quality thin stainless steel bushing, which is pushed over the damaged part of the shaft.

Applications

Speedi Sleeves are placed on axles to repair the run-in or damaged tread. Repairing or replacing the axle is time-consuming and generally a costly exercise. In many cases, the Speedi Sleeve is a quick and cost-efficient alternative. The Speedi Sleeve can also be used as original equipment to avoid a costly machining operation on the axle surface.

Installation

The Speedi Sleeve can be installed quickly and easily with the supplied mounting material. The mountingflens easily removable.

Instructions are included in the packaging:

  • Clean the run-in tread on the axle. Remove bumps with light sandpaper

  • Measure the diameter of tread at an unaffected location. Select the usable Speedi Sleeve based on this measurement

  • Place the supplied set against the edge of the sleeve

  • If the mounting sleeve is too small, a tube can also be used

  • Push gently in the middle of the mounting sleeve until the damaged area is reached

  • The sleeve should only be removed if it obstructs the application. If it must be removed, a notch should be made carefully before mounting to avoid damage

  • Mount the seal
