Radial seal RD-10
Description
Radial seals are double-acting seals and consist of a PTFE sealing element which is pretensioned by an O-ring. Sealsupply has two types in its assortment, namely the RD10 and the RD10, inside sealing. The sealing surface is specially designed for use at high pressure and low speeds. The grooves in the dynamic sealing surface provide the possibility of forming a lubrication film. This reduces friction and is still protected by dry running.

Application parameters
Operating parameters | O-ring NBR | O-ring FKM |
Temperature | - 30 up to 100 °C | - 15 up to 200 °C |
Pressure | ≤ 30 Mpa | ≤ 30 Mpa |
Shaft speed | ≤ 5 m/s | ≤ 5 m/s |
Surface roughness | Ra | Rmax |
Groove Base ØD | ≤1.6 μm | ≤6.3 μm |
Sliding Surface Ød | ≤0.2 μm | 2.0 μm |
Groove Flanks B | ≤3.2 μm | ≤16 μm |
Medium
Hydraulic oils according to DIN 51524 part 1 - 3, lubricating oils, mineral based lubricants, highly flammable hydraulic fluids HFA, HFB, HFC according to VDMA 24317, water and water-oil emulsions.
Applications
- For sealing of hydraulic rotation
- Sealing of reciprocating or rotating rods / axes
Installation
For smaller diameters, the installation requires an open installation space. For larger diameters, the seals can be mounted in a closed installation space.
Subsequently, calibration is necessary.
Note
At pressures > 10 MPa it is recommendable that for the cross section you choose the next larger profile available. Please contact us for furter information.
We can also produce this radial seal on request in the materials below. This is our type DR115.
