Kantseals
Kantseals
Description
A kantseal is used as an alternative to an O-ring as an axial static seal with the main purpose of preventing extrusion. An O-ring holds up well in compression. With high axial pressure, the square shape of the kantseal remains practically constant. Kantseals are used, for example, as static seals in flanges and valves.
Pressure: > 50 MPa
Temperature range:
- NBR 85 shore: -30 to 100 °C
- FKM 85 shore: -15 to 200 °C
Benefits:
- High resistance to extrusion
- Retains its shape under (axial) pressure
- No back-up ring required
- Long service life
- No tendency to twist in the groove
- No negative influence by flash
