PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene)
PTFE is a fluorinated thermoplastic compound with a sealing material for a number of highly positive features. Among these are the very high thermal and chemical resistance (almost unlimited). Of all sealing materials, PTFE has the lowest coefficient of friction, which is recommended by the material for dynamic applications. The pure unfilled PTFE material is physiologically acceptable and is therefore also used in applications in the food industry and in medical applications.
